The rear tonneau of Continental GT, for example included the biggest piece of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this unique design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that have established Bentley as the world's most sought-after car brand. The company continues to push boundaries with the latest technology and hand-crafted products. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear sunroof and a crafted Apple iPad docking station.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary in the year 2019 100 years after it was established. The marque, which is owned by Volkswagen on its own after years of disputes with BMW and BMW, has planned a range of special events and launches to mark this milestone. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver and features the large 'B' symbol that lets everyone know you're a Bentley. The key is also decorated with the years 1919 and 2019, to commemorate the company's centennial.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and developed by Bentley Mulliner, to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. It has two opposing pairs of rear seats inspired by luxury private aviation that provide passengers with unbeatable comfort and privacy. The unique heating and ventilation system as well as the air conditioning system was developed to give every passenger the perfect climate control setting.

The Mulsanne has a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine that puts out 560bhp and 479lb-ft torque. This power is paired by a new suspension system that provides Bentley's trademark smooth ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a custom-designed specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. This includes cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are stitched in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a bespoke Bentley keycase to complete the Bentley experience.

Bentley's distinctive design is a reflection of the company's values that include high-quality craftsmanship and engineering expertise as well as the latest technologies. Its headquarters in Crewe are home to over 4000 employees responsible for the design, development and production of Bentley vehicles. They apply their expertise that have been passed through generations to modern automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its finest.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers create their own car. The "mood station" allows guests to select images that inspire them. They can range from beautiful landscapes to sporting events. Every time a choice is made, the pattern that emerges is the model colors, style and color preferences for the customized Bentley.

The guests are given keys made by hand and containing the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. Keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening pathway with the owner's name and/or emblem as they make their way towards the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to build and construct the Mulsanne. The unwillingness to embrace modern technology is the main factor to this time-consuming task. The Crewe factory workers do not employ a machine to place perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers must park their vehicles manually, rather than using the built-in sensors to direct them to perpendicular and parallel spots.

At the event, Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities with an exclusive example of the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited-edition cars include the key with a special design that shows a portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
